Other Events
In addition to the Annual Conference, the Pacific Northwest Girls Collaborative Project will host a variety of events for girl-serving organizations, educators, and business professionals in its area.
The project begins with a kick-off conference to announce the project and begin networking among the participants.
The kick-off conference is followed by two topic forums that provide professional development activities, highlight local programs, and continue the valuable networking experience.
During this time, programs have collaborated to apply for and earn mini-grant awards, then carry out those projects.
Pacific Northwest Girls Collaborative Forum
The Pacific Northwest Girls Collaborative, along with the Northwest Regional Educational Laboratory, Institute of Education Sciences, and the Lewis & Clark College Graduate School of Education and Counseling hosted a professional development workshop on engaging girls in math and science on April 22, 2009 at Lewis & Clark College in Portland, OR. Sixty participants enjoyed opportunities to meet and network together and attend panel presentations by teachers, program directors and inspirational women in STEM careers.
