Washington State Arts Commission: Artist in Residence -- Writers

WSAC supports the contributions of individual artists to education by funding artist residencies in public schools and other settings in Washington State. Artists in residence present workshops for students and classroom teachers. Some also provide educational services for other not-for-profit organizations that receive residency grants, and a select group provide teacher in-services in the arts.

The National Council of Teachers of English

The National Council of Teachers of English is devoted to improving the teaching and learning of English and the language arts at all levels of education. Web site includes links to resources for new teachers, weekly lesson plans, discussion forums and more.

Washington State Council of Teachers of English

WSCTE is a professional organization that encourages the pursuit of excellence in the teaching of English in Washington State in public and private schools and colleges.   In addition, the council takes seriously the charge of informing the citizens of Washington about best practice, current classroom conditions, and significant advances in the field.
